Departing from Grahamstown we head off into the bush of the Great Fish River reserve, pitching camp on the banks of the river. A visit to the famous Fish river fort is followed by a game drive and return to the camp.
We’ll be camping right in amongst the local wildlife (including hippos and rhinos). So close, in fact, that we all have to take shifts guarding the camp at night.
This will be one camping adventure you will never forget.
Dinner is cooked on a fire using South African potjie pots and skottels to cook up scrumptious meals. The night is spent being entertained by stories of Africa around the camp fire and searching for constellations under the vast African night sky.
As one keeps guard the others sleep until your shift begins, making sure that no animals enter into our camp site.
We cook breakfast on the fire, go for a hike and then return back to Grahamstown.
